This piece looks at how mathematical modelling has all but proven a theory that has been proposed for some time now – that it wasn’t the rats to blame for the plague, or even the fleas on them. This article can look at knowledge about disease transmission changing over time, or alternatively from the angle of ecosystems, exploring the interactions between organisms such as predator/prey, parasites, competitors, pollinators and disease (ACSSU176)
