The original article is an overview of Citizen Science project all about cats – everyone can take part even if you don’t have a cat!

Everything you need to deliver lessons for a range of Curriculum Areas:

  • Science – From Reception/Foundation to Year 9 focusing on Biology strands
  • General Capabilities – Literacy, Numeracy, ICT, Critical and creative thinking, Personal and social capability, Ethical understanding, and Intercultural understanding
  • Cross-curriculum priorities – Asian, Indigenous, and Sustainability

The basic documents and resources you need to deliver aspects of this project have been made available on this site, however these are also available, along with more information including the first part of the Citizen Science project (the survey for all to complete) and other additional resources on the Citizen Science project page here

How this could be used in a classroom setting:

By downloading the teacher resources (top right buttons) you can view the resources for all the year levels and subject areas.  Step-by-step instructions on how to actually calculate the total area the cat has covered in are included in the ‘How To’ video & ‘How To’ instructions; the full lesson plans (for all subjects and year levels) are found in the ‘Curriculum links & Lesson Plans’ download with the additional resource sheets to use with your students made available on the final download ‘Lesson resource sheets’ button.
