Meet Peter Thomas-Hall, a chemist and technical officer at Australian Institute of Marine Science in Queensland.

Along with the Australian Academy of Science, we searched the whole country for science and technical support staff who go above and beyond.

Peter is currently working on a way to combat the Crown of Thorns Starfish that is destroying the Great Barrier Reef using Tritons, and trying to replicate, chemically, what they do.

In this film, Peter discusses how his passion for science led to this role as a chemist and describes what he does day-to-day to protect Australian marine life and ecosystems.
